The hanging scene was shot overnight on a real trestle near Los Angeles—not the bridge on Santa Cruz’s fan map. We show you how the wrong location became the one everybody remembers.

The gang’s opening confrontation was filmed at the Looff Carousel on the Boardwalk.
Grandpa’s house
Pogonip Clubhouse supplied the exterior. The interiors were built on a Warner Bros. stage.
The comic shop
Atlantis was on Pacific Avenue. The crew disguised downtown to make it look like the Boardwalk.

No. It’s an independent, deeply researched Santa Cruz experience and is not affiliated with Warner Bros., the Boardwalk or the filmmakers.
Is it scary?
No jump scares. It’s atmospheric, funny and history-rich: filmmaking, Santa Cruz culture and the line between fact and fan mythology.
How difficult is it?
Approximately 1.7 miles over two hours on mostly level city sidewalks, with standing at each stop. Contact us about mobility accommodations before booking.
What if it rains?
Light rain is part of the mood. Unsafe weather triggers a full refund or free rebooking. Paid guests can cancel for a full refund with 24 hours’ notice.
Can kids join?
Ages 13+ are recommended because the source film is rated R and departures end after dark. A parent or guardian must accompany minors.
